My Egotistic and Esoteric Website

Firearms/Shooting Page

I'm a proud american and as a citizen it is my duty to uphold and support the constitution.  Our founding fathers loved this country - much more than politians now-a-days....but don't get me started.

Anyway, we have the right to own and bear arms - and I support the second amendment and everything it stands for.

I also try to support american factories and quality products.  I'm a proud owner of several firearms and train, compete and defend with Ruger and Mossberg firearms. I also have other brands in the collection, but those are my favorite manufacturers.

I'm also a member of the Sandusky County Sportsmens Club in Gibsonburg , Ohio.  I support what they do! They have hundreds of members and a great range. One of the only 500 yard ranges within hours. Oh and check out Cowboy Town y'all!

I used to be a member of the Fulton County Sportmens Club, but found that group pretty standoffish. I approached them several times to assist with events, the website, etc. but I guess they weren't interested. I think this club will eventually die off.

Don't be stupid.  Train yourself and your family on the safe family of firearms!  If you don't know how to use a firearm, then get properly trained and observe all the rules and safe gun owner commandments!

  • Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
  • Respect the power of a loaded weapon.
  • Keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
  • Don't be jerk and sweep anybody else (or yourself).
  • Finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire.
  • Where's the fun in that?
  • Know your target (and what's behind it).
  • Projectiles pass through "objects" all the time.

Yeah, yeah...Everybody has their rules....I've seen as many as 15 rules. Trust me, most people can barely remember their name! These are my rules - a failure in any one of these doesn't kill people (or yourself). Bottom line, if you can't understand and follow four basic rules, you don't need to own a firearm.

Every chance I get, I'll introduce new people to the proper training and use of a weapon. It's important for people to understand that it's just another tool. They are not any more dangerous than a leaded pencil! Seriously! You can put a loaded gun on your kitchen table and it won't harm a soul. Here's some pictures of family and friends shooting at the local range. Watch out for Sydney! She's a crack shot!

Finally got a little 22 range setup on the property for Sydney to shoot at while I start to work on the huge range farther back on the property. This was college finals weekend....so gave Sydney a chance to blow off some steam. I had a bad batch of beer (used too much sugar) while making a light lager version of Bud Light Lime and it ended up having a crazy alcohol content and tasted like wine. So why not have fun with it and shoot the bottles.
